Personal profile
Overview
I am Course Director and Senior lecturer in the school of BEA for the BA (HONS) Architecture programme. I joined LSBU in 2017 having previously worked as an Architect, and before studying at London South Bank University and Oxford Brookes University for my RIBA PART I and II qualifications. I am a registered Architect in the Architects Registration Board UK, and ETEK (Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber).
Research interests
I am a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and have gained notable practice experience, working at award winning practices around Europe and the UK as an Architect including Foster and Partners as an Architect in the Structural Engineering team.
As the BA (HONS) Architecture Course Director, I am responsible for providing academic leadership on the undergraduate course and I am the module leader of design and taught modules, with experience in the delivery of modules including professional practice, technology, and digital communication skills. I have extensive experience in attending both Undergraduate and Postgraduate design studio juries. Together with my role as a Course Director I lead design Studio 01 at the Undergraduate level of study, focused on symbiotic relationships to humanitarian, environmental and economical crisis and Civic design. My interests are focused on the development of design studio projects and the integration of technology within award projects.
I focus my teaching activities around the architecture design studio as a space to encourage and develop student projects focused on innovation in architecture, through discussions on cultural, political, theoretical and technological thinking, I am dedicated to the education of students who will succeed in practice and understand contextual social and environmental needs of design.
I have also completed a further master’s award in Architecture and Digital media at London Westminster University, focused on Technology and Robotics in architecture. Students under my supervision have won numerous architectural competitions and awards including the RIBA prestigious 2021 Serjeant Awards for Excellence in Architectural Drawing.
My research interests include, architectural means of representation, architecture and geometry, the innovation of civic spaces and user experience, structure as space, materiality, and fabrication techniques as well as the psychology of design in architecture. However, my main focus relies on the research material provided with the collaboration of students in the design studio, focusing on developing architectural interventions accommodating disastrous social, economic, environmental circumstances within civic architecture.
