I am a registered mental health nurse and Senior Lecturer and a Senior Fellow, at London South Bank University.
My interest is in advancement of Social Justice as well as well as improving the life chances of individuals by increasing their resilience and aspirations through education.
I am a former Fellow of the Council of Deans of Health and has now serve on the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Policy Group.

Research Interests

My doctoral thesis focussed on the factors surrounding the participation and progression of British African Caribbean males in academia and ways in which they can increase participation and progression.
I am also involved with the Caribbean Mental Health Nurses Association and the University of East Anglia and the University of the West Indies in writing a mental health curriculum for the Caribbean.A
At present I undertake peer reviews for two journals and provide supervision of master's degree students with a particular interest in Equality and diversity and inclusion issues as well as subjects related to intersectionality of minoritized groups.
In recent years I have also undertaken external examiners duties for and higher education provider, aiming to assure the quality of provision in that institution.
