Personal profile

Overview

I am Senior Lecturer in the School of Built Environment and Architecture within the Division of Civil and Building Services Engineering. I joined LSBU in 2017 having
previously worked at South Thames College coordinating apprenticeship programmes. I teach both Civil and Building Services subjects, getting focused on sustainable construction, renewable energies and energy use and management.

Research Interests

I am passionate about fire safety after the Grenfell Tower Fire. My research focuses on a novel idea working alongside other two colleagues to improve the fire resistance of ventilated cladding systems via air cavity replacement. We hold a PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) and we are under the process to be granted. We are trying to demonstrate the viability of a technique improving the fire safety of ventilated facades. This project is a good compendium of Research, Enterprise and Innovation.
Also, I am passionate about sustainability because of our commitment to reduce Carbon Dioxide emissions to meet 2030 and 2050 goals. I am working alongside another colleague in ways of improving the sustainability of vertical transportation in buildings. This project is funded by Low Carbon London via the South Bank Innovations Team and we work alongside a external consultant. The project is run on campus and at some stage it will be really interactive for the whole LSBU Community.
I am passionate about Education, and as Apprenticeship Lead of my Division with a provision of hundreds of apprentices, I open a door for education research.
