Professor Chris Harty

Personal profile

Overview

I have recently joined LSBU as Dean of the School of the Built Environment and Architecture and Professor of Technology and Organisation. Prior to this, I was at the University of Reading for many years, latterly as Head of the School of Built Environment. I am also Chair of BSRIA (Building Services Research and Information Association) having been a non-executive Director since 2019.

Research Interests

My research interests are in understanding cultural and strategic change in organisations, implementing new technologies and working practices, future scenario development and the connections between physical space and organisation and I have worked with many leading international built environment organisations in these areas. I have been the Lead or Principal investigator on over £3.5 million in research grants and have been Visiting Professor at Copenhagen Business School, Chalmers University of Technology, and currently the University of Stuttgart. Whilst occupied with (extremely rewarding) university leadership roles I endeavour to remain research active and am always keen to discuss potential collaborative research opportunities and PhD projects.
