Personal profile

Overview

I am an Associate Professor in the Division of Construction, Property and Surveying in the School of the Built Environment and Architecture. I originally studied engineering at Imperial College London, followed by project management at Henley Management College (now Henley Business School, University of Reading). After joining LSBU as a research assistant, I worked in the construction industry as a project manager before returning to the university for a full-time position. My initial research interests were on project planning and risk management, but have since extended into other subject areas such as procurement, productivity, sustainability and digital construction.

Research Interests

My research activities currently and in the past include involving in a knowledge transfer programme with an industrial partner as a co-investigator, supervising and examining PhDs, reviewing journal papers, and chairing conference sessions. I have provided consultancy to the industry as principal investigator, set up and managed collaborations with external institutions in the UK and abroad, acted as advisor/panel member on validation of postgraduate programmes within my university and other institutions, examined as well as chaired boards on other university programmes. I have also represented professional bodies on accreditation visits, assessed professional performance and organised CPD events.
