PhD projects

I have discussed this with the heads/ leads for research at LSBU, and had confirmation that I can be part of a supervisory team for PhD projects. I have co-supervised many PhD students in the last decade, although none so far at LSBU. I have delivered and led on modules for taught PhD students and any other PhD or post graduate students taking research methodology modules at LSBU.

Overview

I am an Associate Professor and Digital Lead for iHSC.
My areas of speciality include supporting the development of digital competencies for students and staff, teaching on healthcare programmes, and relevant research.
I launched and have Chaired the Disability Network (DNet) at LSBU since 2019, and am the interim Allied and Community Health (ACH) EDI committee chair.
Prior to joining LSBU, I worked as a Senior Lecturer and PGDip/MSc degree programme creator at a UK University, during which time I was recipient of awards for teaching and improving student experience, as well as national award for EDI work.

Research Interests

I am an active researcher in the field of technology enhanced learning, predominantly for students on healthcare programmes. I have presented research and innovation platform series at conferences and events across Europe.
I am also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
I have collaborated and published on a number of projects in healthcare fields, including: rheumatology, pulmonary rehabilitation, neuro-musculoskeletal, COVID-19.
My current research is exploring ways to develop reflective practice and digital skills acquisition as part of undergraduate curriculum "baseline" transferrable skills.
I have also been exploring the benefits and feasibility of implementing accessibility provisions for all staff-facing devices at LSBU, as baseline.
I work with the Business Disability Forum (BDF) on events and raising accessibility awareness, and I am a current member of the NHS working group for digital education and future-planning. I also works with LSBU educational partners in Dentistry, and with Higher Education England (HEE) scholarship students
