Dr Daqing Chen

I am a Senior Lecturer in Data Science and the Course Leader for the BSc (Hons) Computer Science and IT courses (Full-Time, Part-Time, and Top-up). I primarily teach data science modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Data Mining and Big Data Analytics, and Data Mining and Analysis. My research focuses on deep learning-based algorithms and systems with applications in automated lip-reading, high-dimensional data embedding and visualization, large-scale data labelling, and business intelligence. Additionally, I have a proven track record of driving knowledge exchange by leading high-value analytics projects across diverse industrial sectors.
