Personal profile

Overview

I am a Senior Lecturer and co-leader of the Brain, Mind and Behaviour group in the Division of Psychology at London South Bank University. I am also Course Director for the BSc Psychology (Clinical) course.

I am a cognitive neuroscientist with a primary expertise in EEG. After obtaining my PhD from Goldsmiths, I carried out post-doctoral research at Goldsmiths, Caltech, and the University of Cambridge. My main research is in the area of music psychology.

Research Interests

I have a long-standing interest in understanding the processes that underpin commonalities between music and language, and more generally studying them as powerful tools to communicate and bond with others. I am also more broadly interested in how music may influence other cognitive domains and processes, such as the perception of fairness, emotions, and wellbeing.
