I am an architect, researcher, and educator.
I co-lead a design studio and teach Cultural Context on the BA (Hons) Architecture programme. Additionally, I supervise dissertations for the MArch and MA Planning programmes. I have also taught dissertation modules at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. Previously, I was a guest lecturer at the Architectural Association and a research assistant at the Royal College of Art.
I am a registered architect in the UK and have practised architecture in London, Madrid, and Athens. I co-founded Fatura Collaborative, an architecture and research practice with projects across various scales that address new issues related to ecology, domesticity, and everyday life.
My PhD thesis (Royal College of Art, 2022), titled "Infrastructures of Solidarity and Care (2010-2020)," explored two critical areas of spatial justice in the city: the rise of solidarity and mutual aid organisations that provide welfare services and support to disenfranchised communities, and the spatial interventions they develop to reappropriate “abandoned” urban territories.
My research interests focus on the climate emergency, the housing crisis, feminist ethics of care, and spatial agency. These interests align closely with my academic work, which emphasises a critical engagement with both theory and practice to explore how architecture can respond to urgent societal issues through a lens of care, collective participation, and the lived experiences of disenfranchised communities.
My upcoming book, "Building Solidarity Architectures: Collective Care in Times of Crisis" (Goldsmiths Press/MIT Press, 2025), explores the “lived architecture”—everyday practices and spaces—of collective care that emerge in response to conditions of crisis. In 2023, I was awarded a publication grant from the prestigious Graham Foundation in support of my research. My work has been published and presented internationally on various occasions, most notably at the Venice Biennale (2016) and the Biennale of Young Greek Architects (2021).
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
