Overview

On qualification as a RN (Child), my clinical nursing career has included paediatric cardio-respiratory, oncology, infectious diseases, spinal and general nursing care in ward, HDU and PICU areas.
Through being a nurse academic for over 10 years, I have developed my skills of promoting evidence based nursing practice, curriculum development, quality assurance and programme leadership.
My current research interest, via my EdD studies, looks at supporting student nurses who require reasonable adjustments for clinical placement. This includes the publication of papers with globally unique content.

Presently, I lead and teach on a range of pre-registration nursing modules including clinical skills, communication and nursing research for the BSc (Hons) and PGDip/MSC in Childrens Nursing programmes at LSBU. I also provide dissertation supervision for post-registration nursing students undertaking MA and BSc studies.
