Overview
I work in the field of urban studies within the disciplines of sociology, geography, and criminology. My doctoral thesis is based on fieldwork with urban recyclers conducted in Curitiba, Brazil. Since completing my PhD I have conducted academic, community, evaluative, and consultancy research on the politics of waste disposal, urban verticality, night workers of the London Underground, performance art festivals, arts, and education engagement projects, and radio in prisons. I teach sociology, criminology, political ecology, urban geography, qualitative research methods and higher education skills at LSBU and other HE institutions.
Research interests
My wide research and evaluation experience includes the design, management, and delivery of projects on processes of urban change, politics of urban waste, National Prison Radio, arts engagement projects, London Borough of Culture, art education, performance art festivals, municipal cultural policy, art in public spaces, night workers at the London Underground.
