I have worked at LSBU since 2011. Originally joining as a seconded Lecturer Practitioner, I moved to LSBU full-time in 2014 as a Senior Lecturer. I have taken on a wide range of roles during this time, including Clinical Lead, and Course Director for the Diagnostic Radiography courses.
Research Interests
In January 2020 I took on my currently role as Head of Division for Radiography and Operating Department Practice. Taking this role on during the start of the pandemic provided a very challenging yet exciting experience, which saw significant changes in the delivery of services in every sector. The skills acquired during this time have provided a basis for new ways of working, taking the best of both traditional and contemporary methods to drive quality forwards and enhance student experience and outcomes. I currently oversee three main teams: Diagnostic Radiography; Therapeutic Radiography; and Operating Department Practice, within which there are three incredible teams of staff supporting a wide range of courses, including Dip HE, BSc (Hons), Integrated Degree Apprenticeships and MSc pathways. One of the key pieces of work within the recent revalidation of our courses has been the decolonisation of the curriculum, ensuring that equity and justice are embedded into course content, and that forms of assessment are varied and supportive to all. My goal is to take an active role in reducing the racial awarding gap, and ultimately allow access to successful careers in healthcare for all, as well as quality of care to our current and future service users with the NHS. Outside of my work with the core teams within my division, I am also a Student Conciliator for the wider University, as well as a Local Manager for Fitness to Practice investigations within the School of Allied and Community Health.
