Personal profile

Overview

I joined LSBU in June 2021, where I am the Apprenticeship Lead for the School of Allied Health, Skills Coach for the Operating Department Practice Integrated BSc Apprenticeship and an Academic Integrity Coordinator. I originally studied Operating Department Practice at LSBU and graduated in 2016, followed by a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education at Swansea University. I am a registered Mentor with the NHS SouthEast Leadership Academy.

Research Interests

My current research interests are the effects of the financial crisis on our Healthcare students; including their wellbeing, mental health, ability to balance financial responsibilities alongside study requirements and potential consequences to recruitment diversity.
I have taken my findings from an informal survey conducted across the Allied Health School, and used them to raise awareness across the London Allied Health Faculties of the financial hardships our students are facing in the current crisis. I am now collaborating with clinical and faculty AHP leads to source more data for escalation and to lobby for change to AHP apprenticeship pay standardisation, and access to hardship funds for all student groups.
