Personal profile
Overview
I supervise research projects in areas related to popular musicology and music production and lead a music industry-oriented module aimed at preparing final-year music and sound design students for their professional careers.
Research Interests
My musical practice explores notions of reminiscing and retrospection through the lens of “bedroom production”, as well as sampling of easy listening library music and hauntology.
Working as a singer-producer under the name Semi Precious, my work has been endorsed by outlets such as The Sunday Times, The Guardian, i-D and Electronic Sound Magazine.
I currently co-run the electronic music record label and artist collective squareglass and previously collaborated with producer Matthew Herbert.
I also serve as a lecturer at Goldsmiths, University of London, where I teach music production and songwriting at the postgraduate and undergraduate levels.
