Personal profile

Overview

I joined LSBU in 2024 as a Lecturer in Project Management based in LSBU Business School. I obtained my first degree in Electronics Engineering at IUKL, followed by an MSc in Engineering Management at the University of York. After graduating with a Distinction, I pursued a PhD in Planning and Environmental Management at the University of Manchester with research focusing on renewable energy planning.
I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), Associate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), Member of the Regional Studies Association (RSA) and Member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).

Research Interests

My main research interests are at the intersection of energy generation and utilisation, energy poverty, transportation and energy, decarbonisation strategies and SMEs involvement in achieving SDGs. So far, I have conducted research at local, national and international levels with projects involving Wigan Council, Transport for the North, Transport for Greater Manchester, Natural England and the European Commission. I have also conducted consultancy projects to help UK-based clients in expanding their business portfolio in the sustainable construction industry.
I am open to discussing potential PhD supervision within the broad topics above and project management, so if you have exciting research ideas please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

Research and Enterprise

I am now supervising a PhD Project titled "Transitioning from Human-Driven to Autonomous Bus Transport" conducted by Abdirahman Farah, co-supervised by Dr Hongyi Yang.
