    Personal profile

    Overview

I am Professor of Thermal Energy Systems at London South Bank University and currently serve as the Associate Dean of Research and Innovation for the College of Technology and Environment.

I have over 20 years experience in academic teaching and research, complemented by industrial experience at both design and management levels.

My research bridges engineering technologies, environmental control, and well-being. This resulted in over 120 research articles, along with four books and several book chapters.

Additionally, I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Fellow of the Institute of Refrigeration, and a member of the BSRIA Publication Committee

    Research Interests

My expertise lie broadly in leading interdisciplinary research and enterprise projects that connect energy technologies, environmental control, and well-being.

    Current research areas include:

    - Alternative heating and cooling technologies

    - Energy conservation using IoT

    - Smart memory alloy heat pumps

    - Natural ventilation

    - Combined heat, power, and refrigeration (trigeneration)

    - Net zero and decarbonization of the built environment

    - Skills development in low-carbon and renewable technologies
