A Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing, I joined the LSBU family in 2009 having been a Practice Educator and Advanced Nurse practitioner prior to this. I have wide and varied experiences as a registered nurse and educator and bring these into my education practice to enhance currency. My clinical background includes neurosurgery, maxillofacial surgery/ facial trauma and chronic facial pain management. I am a former Course Director for BSc Adult Nursing at LSBU and was very proud to have been awarded the LSBU "Student Experience Impact Award" - voted for by the students.
I teach on both Pre and post-registration Courses

Research Interests

I have an education and research interest in chronic disease and palliative and end-of-life care. This is my passion.
I am currently undertaking my Professional Doctorate focusing on the lived experiences of student nurses of palliative and end of life care during the Covid-19 pandemic.
I have presented preliminary findings from this work in a review to an all-Party Parliamentary Group. I have also been an invited Keynote speaker at the ASEAN International Nursing Research Conference in China 2022 and at Sigma Nursing Research Congress 22 looking at the researcher experience of gathering data during Covid-19.
