I have worked in higher education since 2017 and have been at LSBU as a lecturer in the children's nursing division since August 2022. At LSBU I teach across the nursing curriculums, and I am a link lecturer for Great Ormand Street Hospital where I support pre-registration nursing students in their clinical placements. I also hold additional roles at LSBU- I have been the year 1 lead for the BSc children’s nursing students for the past 3 cohorts and am one of the divisions academic integrity coordinators.
I am a registered children's nurse with over 17 years’ experience. I worked in clinical and educational nursing roles within the NHS before moving into higher education and my clinical expertise lies within acute care.
I have studied at a variety of institutions, and I hold a BSc (Hons) in Children's Nursing from Coventry University and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Buckinghamshire New University. I am also currently working towards my MA in Education at Middlesex University.
I am passionate about student retention and attainment, and how we can improve the student experience. I co-authored a book chapter looking at successful studying tips for nursing students and ‘How to Survive and Thrive’, which was published in 2025. This is also the focus for my MA research.
