Overview

Prior to joining London South Bank University, I was a senior sustainability consultant for BRE, specialising in refurbishment and sustainable design consultation, BREEAM, Code for Sustainable Homes and Passivhaus. I co-authored and project managed a number of BRE Information Papers and various EST technical publications.
I have won a Merit Award at the Chartered Institute of Building’s 2015 International Innovation and Research Awards.
I have been actively involved in various judging panels including Green Gown Awards (EAUC) in 2010 and 2011, and Sustainability Housing Awards (Inside Housing) in 2011 and 2012.

Research Interests

My research interests include: architecture design technology, environmental assessment method, Building Information Modelling, Life Cycle Assessment, sustainable urban planning and energy efficiency in buildings.
I actively involved in linking the professional industry and academia for research activities, CPDs, and knowledge transfer partnership.
I participated in the Indonesia – UK Researcher Workshop run by the British Council, Loughborough University and Institut Teknology Bandung between 24-27 March 2014. I am part of the founding member of the UK-Indonesia Researcher Network, which aims to develop sustained collaboration between UK and Indonesian researchers and to actively disseminate research findings in the arena of sustainable buildings and infrastructure.
I was awarded an MPhil in Environment Technology in January 2009 for the thesis work in assessing the embodied transport energy of a prefabricated timber wall panelling unit.
Between September 2012 and September 2013, during my employment at BRE, I was seconded as the Business Innovation Manager to Adapt CBE at University of East Anglia (UEA) for a year honorary contract. Her role at UEA involves developing close links between industry, research and academia especially in terms of sustainability, BREEAM and Passivhaus to encourage increased technology transfer and open innovation. As part of my role in providing technical expertise within the secondment, she was also responsible for delivering various seminars and authoring various technical briefing papers for Adapt CBE.
