Providing Care in Children's Nursing- skills-based module providing links between theory and practice

Appraising Evidence for Practice (Children's)- Focus on research methods and critical appraisal of evidence for consideration for implementation 

Additional teaching and support

Masters dissertation supervisor- providing guidance and support to students studying for their Masters in Children's Nursing.

I teach across all pre-registration children's modules, including BSc and PGDip/MSc courses, with a special interest in teaching about emergency care, working in low-income countries, ethics and all years' skills.

Additional Responsibility

Cohort lead- BSc 2024 cohort- providing pastoral care, signposting to other university systems and enabling cohort feedback to occur regularly. Also managing and communicating cohort-wide changes, issues or updates. 

Stage 2 appeals panel member- considering Stage 2 appeals relating to academic or withdrawal decisions to create recommendations for exam boards. 

Personal tutor- providing pastoral support, debriefing space and guidance.

Link lecturer (UCLH)- providing debriefing space for students on placement, mediating in disagreements or challenges between students and practice staff, supporting practice learning.

Program lead: student peer mentorship- Currently developing a peer mentorship program- in progress, to be implemented Sept 25

Research ethics panel member- pending training date

Community ambassador supervisor- Supervising student community ambassadors in conducting blood pressure checks, kidney function tests and providing advice to local communities to address renal disease.

Outside of University Role

RCN Forum member: Emergency Care forum and CYP: Professional Issues Forum (voting member).

Senior staff nurse in Children's Emergency Department- bank staff, working roughly 3-4 shifts monthly. 

Program lead for Carry The Future Charity: diaper distribution program- working with refugee camps across Europe (and wider for disaster relief) to assess needs and provide response, focussed on diaper distribution.

Part of Empower Tanzania charity group working to deliver sexual and reproductive health programs to young people.

Work with YourStance- charity providing haemhorrage and CPR training to young people, focussed on those living in areas of deprivation in London. 

Work with UnderOneSky- charity delivering provisions to those experiencing homeslessness in London
