    Personal profile

    Overview

I joined London South Bank University (LSBU) in 2021 and currently serve as Co-hort Lead for BA (Hons) Business Management with Accounting and Finance pathways, as well as Module Leader across various subjects. I hold a First-Class Honours degree in Accounting and Finance, a Master’s in International Business Management, and a PGCHE from Falmouth University. I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Behavioural Finance. Prior to academia, I worked at BBC Media Action on FCDO-funded projects in finance and compliance. My industry and academic experience enables me to deliver engaging, real-world teaching across foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels.

    Research Interests

As a member of the LSBU Business and Economics Insight Research Group and a current PhD candidate in Behavioural Finance, my research is centred on understanding the psychological and behavioural factors that influence financial decision-making among medium and small scale business owners. Specifically, I explore how these individuals navigate risk in the context of investment and borrowing decisions, and how their personal beliefs, cognitive biases, and perception of probabilities impact those decisions and, ultimately, their business outcomes.
My doctoral research investigates the behavioural dimensions of financial judgment, including overconfidence, loss aversion, mental accounting, and heuristics and their role in shaping strategic financial choices. By combining behavioural theories with practical insights from small business environments, I aim to contribute to the development of more effective frameworks that better reflect how financial decisions are made in real-world, resource-constrained contexts. This work has particular relevance for policy-makers, lenders, and advisory services working with micro and small enterprises, as well as for educators designing finance curricula for entrepreneurs and SME managers.
My broader academic interests include financial inclusion, SME finance, decision science, and the intersection of psychology and economics. I am committed to producing research that is not only academically rigorous but also socially and economically impactful, particularly in improving the financial sustainability and strategic resilience of small businesses in the UK and globally.
