Personal profile
Overview
I joined London South Bank University (LSBU) in 2022 as a Forensic Science and Instrumentation Technician within the Technical Support Services team. Prior to this, I worked for over ten years as a Forensic Laboratory Technician and Forensic Examiner at the Government Laboratory of the Hong Kong SAR. I hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry with Management from the University of Hong Kong, awarded in 2006.
In my previous roles, I was responsible for the examination of questioned documents, controlled drugs and precursors, as well as the recovery and analysis of trace evidence from crime scene exhibits. This included tool marks, fibres, DNA, hairs, and blood, alongside chemical analyses using a wide range of instrumental techniques. I was also involved in traffic accident reconstruction, applying principles from mathematics, physics, automotive engineering, video analysis, and scene investigation to determine the possible causes of road traffic incidents.
My experience extends to crime scene attendance, where I undertook the identification, preservation, and retrieval of scientific evidence, as well as the evaluation and interpretation of forensic findings. I also reconstructed sequences of events and prepared expert reports for use in court proceedings.
At LSBU, I now share my knowledge and expertise by delivering practical sessions for the Forensic Science BSc programme and by supporting and supervising students undertaking their Year 3 Research Projects.
