Personal profile
Overview
I joined LSBU in 2018 as a Senior Lecturer in Architecture: Digital Skills within The School of the Built Environment and Architecture. I have an HND in Architectural Technology from Osun State College of Technology, Nigeria; BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology, BA (Hons) Architecture RIBA Part 1, MArch: Master of Architecture RIBA Part 2 from London South Bank University, London, and currently undertaking my PhD Architecture at LSBU, London.
Research Interests
My research interest includes Courtyard Building, Well-being, Social Cohesion and Social Sustainability. I am currently undertaking my PhD research in my 5th year of study. The research focuses on the key elements of architectural design in both the global north and global south, which I observe as vital to societal cohesion and human well-being. The research investigates the differences between cultural community design, linked explicitly to Nigeria and the UK, as a means of knowledge exchange.
I am also a member of RAID (Research into Architecture and Innovative Design), one of the key research groups in BEA for discussing and implementing members' innovative ideas.
I am an Associate Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, closely following the activities of this important institution and the standards it sets for architectural education and professional behaviours.
Previously, I held the position of Course Leader for the Architectural Assistant Apprenticeship at Level 6 and the Architect Apprenticeship at Level 7.
As a member of the Ethics Panel for the School of the Built Environment and Architecture, I am honoured to collaborate with my distinguished colleagues towards our shared objectives. Additionally, I take great satisfaction in serving as a member of the UKRI Talent Peer Review College, where I work diligently with other esteemed members to fulfil our critical duties.
I was involved in preparing and constructing the 2021 Venice Biennial Architecture exhibition “Time Space Existence” Project.

Additional Responsibility
I serve as the Digital Skills lead for the School of the Built Environment and Architecture and am a committee member of the digital skills group at the institutional level. In this capacity, I work closely with key stakeholders and Senior Management to develop new initiatives associated with blended learning and the embedding of technology within Higher Education settings. My responsibilities also include serving as the current Module Leader for Design 401, 402, and 403, as well as Technology 5 at Postgraduate Level. Moreover, I am leading a MArch Design Studio.
Subjects Taught
As an educator, I have experience teaching various subjects. These include being the MArch Design Studio Lead for the Master of Architecture/RIBA part 2 program, serving as Module Leader for Technology 5 within the same program, and conducting courses as Module Leader for MArch Design 401, 402, and 403. I strongly believe in engaging closely with students to comprehend their reasons for pursuing a career in architecture and identifying the most effective teaching and learning strategies for them. This requires exceptional listening skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to understand how each student can become a skilled and responsible design professional. I am supporting our students’ undergraduate and postgraduate-level teaching with my PhD research. This also contributes to the LSBU corporate action plan on sustainability strategy and policy, focusing on the social aspect of sustainability. I am currently working on publishing conference papers and teaching materials. I offered one-on-one tutorials to prepare students for finalising their coursework by responding to each of the main points of their brief. In addition to the weekly and holiday tutorials to the students, I also contribute to writing the academic design briefs, working closely with students by offering 1:1 tutorials, pastoral support, critical feedback and innovative assessment processes. As a way to help students who missed their 1:1 tutorial sessions, I have organised catch-up tutorials for them. I have taken it upon myself to assign tutorial sessions for each student in a final attempt to discuss their ideas and progress.
