Overview
My name is Megan, I am a Diagnostic Radiographer who qualified from the University of Hertfordshire in 2019. I have recently joined LSBU in 2022, after working for exactly three fantastic years clinically as a senior Radiographer in Surreys outstanding trauma hospital in Surrey and Sussex healthcare. As well as working clinically, I had the role of a practice educator; mentoring and caring for students educational and pastoral needs whilst on placement.
Research Interests
I made the decision to leave the NHS as a full time Diagnostic Radiographer to embrace a new found passion I have of assisting and teaching students. I am now working as a graduate teaching assistant and the apprenticeship skills coach for the brand new LSBU radiography apprenticeship course.
Whilst working for the NHS I proudly presented teaching material which was designed of research I conducted on successful mentoring techniques to encourage staff to stay within a trust for a longer period of time.
I also set up a case to fight for basic radiation protection principles to be added to mandatory training for all staff within the trust – this was to encourage a more positive interprofessional working environment within the trust, which is something I am extremely passionate about.
I have many interests in the field of Radiography and think that the beauty of radiography is that there are so many areas to explore. My main focus is to positively aid the learning of others.
In the future I would love to gain a teaching qualification as well as a post graduate in forensics, which is another area that fascinates me.
