Overview

Michelle Steptoe has been a midwife for 27 years and in education for 12 years. She joined LSBU in 2012 and has moved from a joint position of supporting midwifery students in the clinical area to now working as a senior lecturer. She has been the Course Director for the 3-year programme for 3 years with overall responsibility for the day to day running of the programme. Michelle coordinates modules for first and second year student midwives as well as linking with UCLH Trust.

Research Interests

Michelle is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Authority (SFHEA) and her focus is on ensuring that students receive feedback that they can use to progress on the programme. Michelle recognises the importance of adapting teaching methods to suit learning styles and is passionate about supporting students to identify their own learning needs to ensure success.
