Overview

I am a PhD student specializing in Coastal and Ocean Engineering, with a keen interest in sediment transport and fluid mechanics. My research primarily focuses on understanding and mitigating the scour depth expected from a tsunami event.
I hold a BSc in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Environmental Engineering from Babol Noshirvani University. My master's thesis explored the numerical and experimental modeling of brine discharge from desalination plants into the marine environment using a Venturi nozzle.
I am focused on Environmental Fluid Mechanics, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and turbulence modeling, aiming to address complex environmental challenges affecting coastal regions.

Research Interests

PhD Project Description: Tsunami scours' physical process and parameter sensitivity at coastal structures will be examined. A design tool will be developed for practicing engineers to estimate the scour depth expected from a tsunami event. This will be achieved by combining the analysis of an extensive data set of tsunami scours taken in a unique tsunami modeling laboratory and developing a numerical model to extend the data. The work will analyze an extensive laboratory data set of tsunami scours to illuminate the physical processes and influencing parameters. From this, a numerical simulation will be developed and validated using the open-source CFD software OpenFOAM. The numerical model will then extend the laboratory data to conduct a comprehensive parametric study of tsunami scour. A regression analysis will be performed to isolate the influencing parameters and develop a predictor equation.
