Personal profile

Overview

I am a registered NMC Adult Nurse working in the School of Health and Social Care as a Senior Lecturer with almost 20 years of teaching and research experience both in the UK and abroad. Since I joined LSBU, I’ve been involved in teaching various modules across the BSc Adult Nursing course, PGDip and CPD modules.

Research Interests

I started my career in Nursing after obtaining my Assistant nurse diploma back in 2004 while studying Biology at Zaporizhzhya National University (BSс and MSс). I was awarded my Ph.D. in Human Physiology by Taras Shevchenko National Unіversity of Kyiv in 2015. My thesis was entitled “Influence of Modulated Electric Current on Human Functional State”. This work resulted in nine papers in topical journals. Furthermore, I’ve continued studies on using the method in my further research while working as a lecturer and continuing to collaborate with the private clinic. This has led to the publication of a brochure, seven articles and numerous conference abstracts. At this time, I’ve continued collaborating with the private Medical Centre, and we have published a guideline on the therapeutic use of phytocompositions.
During my teaching career, I’ve developed a keen interest in employing e-learning techniques and optimising teaching effectiveness by using associative flows and taking into account learners’ personality profiles, as reflected in four conference abstracts dedicated to these innovative educational practices. I’ve also co-authored three study guide monographs, one of which (“Biochemistry of Sports”) had been recommended by the Ukrainian Ministry of Education as a textbook for sports science and physical rehabilitation undergraduates.
Thus, my research interests include e-learning techniques, physical rehabilitation in cardiovascular and nervous system diseases, physiotherapy and phytotherapy.

Additional Responsibility

I’m a Link Lecturer for our students in St. Bartholomew hospital, Barts.

Subjects Taught

I’m a Module Leader for several modules (Biosciences for Adult Nursing, Biosciences for Nursing Associates, Research Methods and Processes) and a teaching team member for Introducing Evidence-Based Practice for Nursing and Skills modules.
