I have worked in higher education for over ten years and have been at LSBU as a senior lecturer in the adult nursing division since September 2021. I teach across the nursing curriculums, and I am the lead link lecturer for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust where I support pre-registration learners in their community based clinical placements. I am an Adult Registered Nurse with over 20 years' experience in the UK and Internationally and have worked within clinical, leadership and educational nursing roles. My clinical expertise lies within emergency medicine, I continue to work clinically within northwest London.
Research Interests
I have studied at a variety of institutions and hold a Diploma in Applied Health studies (University of the West of England), BSc (Hons) in Nursing (Oxford Brookes University) and Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Buckinghamshire New University). I completed a Master of Science degree in patient safety and quality at Imperial College London where I conducted research around the impact of patient feedback given to nursing student learners in the clinical environment. I am a regular contributor to nursing journals and have co-authored a number of book chapters in relation to Nursing Associates and Nursing Students. I am passionate about diversity in nursing and I have an interest around why men chose nursing as a career. I have been involved in a number of events and conference presentations that recognise men's contribution to nursing. I have held a number of external examiner appointments.
