Personal profile

Overview

I joined LSBU in 2016, where I am a Senior Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering in the School of Engineering and course director for B.Eng/M.Eng in Mechanical Engineering programmes. My previous post was as a Senior Teaching Fellow in WMG at University of Warwick where I taught and managed various courses across Mechanical and Automotive Engineering degree apprenticeship programme. During my time in Warwick I was involved in the development of degree apprenticeship course for JLR and was a Course Manager for the Applied Engineering Programme (AEP) and also contributing into PG modules delivery.

Research Interests

I have a broad teaching and research background and has worked on a variety of projects both in industry and academia. My industrial and academic experiences have provided me with a strong knowledge and understanding of Applied Engineering which I used to deliver the course in my specialisation of thermo-fluids as well as in more specialised areas of Mechanical Engineering. My principle research interest lies in the field of atmospheric boundary layer, Computational Fluid Dynamics modelling (CFD) of atmospheric boundary layers and also in hydrogen energy applications. One of the main factors affecting the reliability of CFD simulations for the urban environment is the Horizontal Homogeneity of the Atmospheric Boundary Layer (HHABL) profile, so I am working on investigating the preservation of HHABL profile using three different commercial CFD codes - the ANSYS Fluent, the ANSYS CFX, and the STAR-CCM+ software. I have been involved in a range of research activities from proposal/bid writing to supervising research projects and attending conference. I am actively looking for more applied research opportunities and industrial collaborations. I am also a Senior Fellow in Higher Education Academy and a registered Chartered Engineer through IMechE.
