Ms Rebecca Sherwood

I qualified as an Operating Department Practitioner in 2001. Since qualification I have spent 15 years in clinical practice gaining experience in all aspects of operating department care. My roles have also included practice education and practice development responsibilities. In April 2016 I joined the Allied Health Sciences Division at LSBU as a lecturer on the BSc (Hons) in Operating Department Practice programme.

My research interests include:
The role of simulation in achieving learning outcomes.
Student experience of practice placements and methods to enhance perioperative learning environments.
Development of education materials and resources to support perioperative courses.

My teaching includes: Anaesthetic Care, Surgical Care, Recovery Care (Adult, Paediatric, and Dual Life) Enhanced Recovery and Emergency Perioperative Care Pathophysiology and Pharmacology Manual Handling Basic Life Support
