Personal profile

Overview

I joined London South Bank University (LSBU) in 2017 having previously taught on the Occupational Therapy programme at Brunel University London. Prior to this I worked in NHS acute in-patient settings and have clinical experience in the areas of orthopaedics, elderly care and acute surgical rehabilitation.
I am also an alumnus of LSBU, where I was awarded an MSc Occupational Therapy. I also have a Master’s degree in Gender and Sexuality from Birkbeck College.

Research Interests

My research interests are in the areas of gender and sexuality in relation to identity. As part of my PhD I undertook research into the
relationship between occupational engagement and identity expression for those who define as transgender, non-binary or gender queer.
I have also undertaken research, using a mixed methods approach, into the representation of gay women’s identity. This project was awarded the British Psychological Society, Psychology of Women’s Section postgraduate prize.
