    Overview

I am a senior lecturer in Education in the School of Law and Education. I have worked at LSBU since 2008. I am currently level 6 lead for BA Education students in the final year of their undergraduate degree, and I am module leader for the final year Dissertation and Constructing Childhood modules. I also supervise students on UG and PG programmes. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

My pedagogic practice as lecturer focuses on creative forms of assessment, empowering students to make choices in how they are assessed and the use of creative practices in academic writing.

Prior to joining LSBU I worked as a lecturer in Children’s Literature and a researcher on children's reading at Roehampton University. I have also worked as a primary school teacher and as a Local Authority advisor in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

My research interests are in forest schools, outdoor learning and the relationship between childhood and society.
