I am a Senior Lecturer in Finance at London South Bank University (LSBU) and the Course Leader for MSc International Finance and MSc Economics. I hold an MSc in Financial Mathematics from the University of Warwick and a PhD in Finance from the University of St Andrews.
Before joining LSBU, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Limerick and a Lecturer in Financeat the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. I have also served as a Visiting Professor at Siberian Federal University and currently hold an Adjunct Professorship at Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology.
Throughout my academic career, I have been actively engaged in teaching, curriculum development, and academic leadership, contributing to the growth of finance education and fostering international collaborations.
My research focuses on Empirical Finance, with a particular emphasis on time-series modeling, copula modeling, financial econometrics, and risk management. My work explores the dependence structures in financial markets, credit risk modeling, and the interplay between macroeconomic and financial data.
I have published in ABS-rated journals, including the Journal of Risk, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, Research in International Business and Finance, and Studies in Nonlinear Dynamics & Econometrics.
My research contributes to a deeper understanding of market dynamics, financial stability, and risk transmission mechanisms, with implications for both academia and industry.
I actively engage in applied research, enterprise collaborations, and industry-focused initiatives that bridge the gap between academia and practice. My work includes securing research grants, leading innovation projects, and consulting for industry partners. Notable projects include securing LSBU’s Internal Research Fund for financial market research and a £3,000 enterprise grant for developing a sustainable healthcare system model. Additionally, I have collaborated with the BOE on economic modelling and organised finance-related industry events, such as the ModelOff Global Training Camp.
