    Abstract

This chapter highlights the continued campaigning of a network of women's organisations in Ireland, north and south, in the years following the extension of the parliamentary franchise to women. This active and vibrant women's movement ensured that the debate surrounding the nature of women's citizenship and the role of women in Irish society remained at the centre of Irish politics throughout the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.
