Abstract

This case study focuses on a 16-year-old male school pupil who presented at an emergency stroke unit in the UK for the treatment of an acute ischaemic stroke and large vessel occlusion. This case study describes what the patient experienced at onset, the treatment and transfer to an emergency stroke unit, and subsequent management based on current evidence and guidelines.
