Abstract
Signs and symptoms of nausea and vomiting in adults arise from a diverse range of causes, and while there is consensus regarding the broad approach to clinical management, there are many opinions on the optimum approach. This article is intended to provide an overview of the drug management of nausea and vomiting in adults. The main causes of acute, delayed and longer-term nausea and vomiting are identified, and linked to the rationale for antiemetic selection. Key therapeutics for the main classes of antiemetic agents are discussed.
