Abstract
The quality and quantity of the nursing workforce are central to care quality and effective healthcare services. Therefore, how we prepare students during initial nurse education, and the continuing education of the nursing workforce, is a critical issue. This focus edition on nurse education includes papers that provide critical perspectives, reports of nursing curricula initiatives, and evaluations of approaches for teaching and learning, using different research approaches.
