Abstract
This paper explores the impact of open-source tools on the participatory design of urban spaces across cities –London, Brighton, Sheffield, Madrid, Athens, Rome, and New York– to address the role of architects in such paradigms. Responding to the aim of the research symposium taking place at LSBU, this paper aimed to discuss current architectural design research paradigms through the critical lens of analogue and digital design and pedagogical practices.
