Abstract
This short opinion piece outlines the historical context of Article 41.2 of the 1937 Constitution which defined the role of women as housewives and mothers. It highlights the campaigns by feminist activists to have the clause removed and calls on the current Irish government to remove Article 41.2 from the Constitution. This is an Irish Times newspaper op ed piece.
