Abstract

This paper addresses the issue of multimedia service provisioning in heterogeneous network environment (WLANs and 3G systems). Particular emphasis is given on the interactions between multimedia signalling, mobility management and AAA interactions. The measurements are associated with service registration/authentication, video streaming within WLAN homogeneous environments and session transfer during movement across homogeneous and heterogeneous network environments. Furthermore, the impact of mobility management on the performance of multimedia services in terms of session reestablishment and packet loss is presented.
