Abstract

This conference paper, presented at WasteEng2024, showed that walnut shell biochars sequester up to 94% of Pseudomonas aeruginosa RP73 and up to 85% of Staphylococcus aureus EMRSA15, and that peak pyrolysis temperature affects their bacterial adsorption performance. This work is the first to demonstrate biochar adsorption of MDR human clinical pathogen isolates.
