Abstract

This chapter explores FedEx's strategic operational difficulties and provides a thorough analysis to improve its competitiveness. The chapter emphasizes the need for supply chain adaptability by implementing flexible distribution networks and multi-sourced techniques. Moreover, cutting-edge technologies ensure quality through quality control methods, technological integration, and staff development. This chapter identifies FedEx's need to enhance environmental sustainability through sustainable packaging ideas, renewable energy, and green transportation technology. Digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the internet of things can be utilised to improve processes, increase supply chain transparency, and enhance customer interaction. Moreover, this chapter explores how FedEx's competitive advantage may be strengthened by frugal innovation, the sharing economy, and gig-economy models.
