What are personality disorders and are they treatable?

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The recent report of the Fallon inquiry has reopened the debate on how best to treat people with personality disorders. Currently treatment varies depending on the patient’s location. There is some consensus about what constitutes effective treatment, including behavioural therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, psychopharmacology, a programme addressing substance misuse, interpersonal training and team nursing.
